The Adelaide Airport is one of the busiest airports in Australia, ranking 5th in terms of volume. It is located in Adelaide, which is in the South Australian portion of the continent. The Airport serves roughly 7 million passengers every year in both flights in and out of the continent.

The Adelaide airport was originally designed as a mail service facility over a 24 hectare piece of land in Hendon in 1921. Since aviation became a larger interest and growth occurred in the use of airplanes for more activities, especially travel so the new airport was built in 1954. The terminal building did not exist until the year 2005. The terminal cost $260 Million to develop over the existing airport. The aerobridges where added and the space was made larger to accommodate the growing number of passengers which were making their way in and out of Adelaide via airplane.

There are over 15 airlines that currently have passenger service between many parts of the world.
