The Clare Valley is a little piece of country Australia, home to a working rural community; this area has been farmland for many generations. Driving through the Clare Valley you will find many cellar doors and farm gate stalls available for you to purchase local produce.

The Clare Valley is known for its wonderful walking trails that feature remarkable natural experiences. One of the national World Wildlife Fund Australian Shorebird Conservation Projects can be found at the Two Wells Samphire Discovery Trail at Middle Beach. Known as Goyder’s line there is a line that separates agriculture and grazing lands, take the Goyder Northern or Southern Driving Trails through beautiful farming land, both Goyder Trails begin in and end in the Market Square at Burra.

A great walk to see native wildlife including kangaroos, echidna, birds and frogs, is to take the Spring Gully Conservation Park walking trails. Adelaide is called the city of churches. I’m really not into churches myself, but I can see how others would be, they are magnificent structures. I really think though that Adelaide is sold short by this description. There is so much to see and do in and around Adelaide and the whole of South Australia for that matter. You will find areas in and around Adelaide that you will not be able to match as an experience anywhere in the world.

The people of Adelaide are friendly and casual. Their city is beautiful. One thing you may be interested in if you do like churches is the Mary MacKillop Interpretive Centre. Follow the early history of Penola and surrounding districts, and view information, displays, and photographs about the district, and Mary MacKillop and Father Julian Woods.

There is also a heritage listed schoolhouse, which is set up to display how a school room from the 1860′s would look. This is a real step back in time. It is a complete schoolhouse even having living quarters at the back for the teacher. The Mary MacKillop Interpretive Centre caters to tourists and locals alike with a gift shop selling gifts, cards and books. You also have access to research and video rooms. The Mary MacKillop Interpretive Center and the Woods MacKillop School house is a valuable resource in maintaining the memory of the good they were able to accomplish in the Penola District and of the Penola District itself. To visit The Mary MacKillop Interpretive Center and the Woods MacKillop School house hire your vehicle from carrentaladelaideairport.com.au. carrentaladelaideairport.com.au uses a large range of car rental companies to present to you the best rental car deals available at the Adelaide Airport. Pick your hire car up from the rental car company you chose at the Adelaide Airport and head off on your own journey of discovery with the help of carrentaladelaideairport.com.au.

So what’s new at the Adelaide Zoo? Giant Pandas are new at Adelaide Zoo! Wang Wang and Funi are Giant Pandas and part of the Giant Panda Breeding Program. In 2008 Zoos South Australia joined with other nations in signing a cooperative agreement with the Chinese Government to help the preservation of the Giant Panda species. These two cute and cuddly Giants are considered to be a good genetic pair. Any cubs that these two create will be very important additions to the Giant Panda population. Wang Wang and Funi are currently the only Giant Pandas in Australia, and the Southern hemisphere. Funi is a lot smaller than Wang Wang, female Giant Pandas are smaller then the male Pandas.

During the Wenchuan Earthquake in China the Wolong Giant Panda Research Center was destroyed. Around 280 Giant Pandas were living in the Center when the earth quake hit. Wang Wang lost his mum, 69,197 deaths occurred and thousands more were reported missing or injured, or homeless. Wang Wang and Funi were given intensive care from keepers at the Baixiongpin Yaan Research Center. It was here that the Pandas were brought back to good health.
